Chulmleigh
lies within a landscape identified as an area of rural tranquility and is designated as an area of Great Landscape value. A Saxon hilltop settlement, the town enjoys a rural location and serves as a focal point for the wider rural area. Communications

The planning permission is subject to a S106 agreement relating to:- (a) The provision of affordable housing; (b) Financial contributions towards education infrastructure; (c) Provision of on site public open space and financial contributions towards off site public open space; (d) Financial contributions towards an evaluation scheme and improvement to the capacity of the existing sewage treatment works.
