Dorset is situated on the south coast of England, between Devon in the west and Hampshire in the east - much of the County is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Coast. Few major roads run through the county, allowing Dorset to retain much of its rural character and charm.
Schools There are many superb public schools including Bryanston, Milton Abbey, Clayesmore, Canford, Sandroyd and St Mary’s Shaftesbury, Sherborne, Shaftesbury & Talbot Heath School.
Events There are many events held throughout the county including The Great Dorset Steam Fair at Tarrant Hinton, The Annual Vintage Motorcycle Run and International Kite Festival in Weymouth, numerous sailing activities & competitions along the coast, fossil hunting and arts & crafts exhibitions.
Landscape There are a variety of contrasting landscapes, consisting of Jurassic coastline with high cliffs, Chesil Beach at Portland, inland there are wooded hills and fertile valleys, rolling chalk hills and wild heath-land with protected native species indigenous only to those areas. Dorset Tourist Information is widely available throughout the County.
